Chairman’s Report December 2022
To all our FMNC family
Well Christmas is upon us. I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a safe and happy Christmas.
I would also like to take this opportunity to again thank all our referees, players, parents and especially our volunteers who work so hard to ensure we all have the opportunity to be part of our wonderful game.
Our office will close today and re-open on the 9th of January. Thank you again to Bruce, Gregg, Amanda & Larry for all your hard work in 2022 which again threw so many hurdles at us. 2023 will be a fantastic year and we look forward to an interruption free competition.
Many of you will now know that the board of NNSWF were unanimously voted out by the member zones and standing committees and we now have a fresh new board to take our game forward. Our very own Mike Parsons heads up the new board who have a mixture of business and importantly football expertise. Unfortunately, CEO David Elands chose not to stay on and we wish him well in his next venture. You will have noticed that NNSWF has started to lock in plenty of upcoming dates for programs which will only improve opportunities to provide our coaches, referees & players with the best skillsets to continue to improve our game. The new NNSWF board has indicated Grass Roots Football will be their priority and will support zones in running their own programs as well.
Our CPL competition has unfortunately been cancelled. I thank all the FMNC clubs who applied to continue the competition however our Northern component has decided to revert to their own zone league. FMNC clubs will now revert back to a Zone Premier League as well.
Congratulations to all the players selected in the High-Performance programs and the Mid Coast Football squads. On the back of a very successful season, we look forward to building on that. Thank you to all our coaches and support staff at the “Middies”. Welcome to Emma Stanbury our new Women’s Head Coach. We are sure that Emma’s influence and experience will inspire many females to join our game especially in a year when we will host the women’s world cup.
Lastly, I would like to thank my board. Your support of me & your time given voluntarily is greatly appreciated by all in our game.
Enjoy your holiday season, enjoy your family time and we look forward to seeing you all on the park in the new year.
Yours in football,
Lance Fletcher
